Adios Fidel Castro

US Politicians are said to be pleased that Fidel Castro is stepping down as Cuban President, and hopeful that a return to democracy is on the way for Cuba, which has has been criticised so much in the media and by Republicans for alleged human rights abuses.

To me, people are too easily forgetting the state Cuba was in when the Cuban revolution, led by Castro took place decades ago. Cuba was effectively controlled by the US mafia, an unholy alliance of mob gang leaders who had the country in their pockets. The populace were little more than slaves to these mafia bosses. Of course this was reflected, in a Hollywood way, by The Godfather Part 2.

To those US politicians who have supported the various assassination attempts on Fidel Castro, I wonder how they would have reacted had they been Cuban during the mafia reign before Castro came along and swept the capos away? Revolutionaries to the core, I bet. Perhaps those crazy schemes to get rid of Castro supported by various US administrations show that the US mafia until recent times still had leverage in US politics.

The third world war was nearly caused not by Russia shipping nuclear missiles to Cuba in the early 1960’s, this was a response to the US invasion plans for Cuba, to reinstate a friendly government, and as a result the return of the mafia dons who had raped the country. The US, which is ultimately a source for good, has to learn to take criticism, and not shout ‘foul’ every time someone takes a contrary view.
