Blackwater chairman faces wrath of congress

Since 11 Iraqis were gunned down by employees of troubled but rich security company Blackwater in September, congressman have been awaiting the chance to scrutinize its business ethics. The FBI has launched an investigation into the killings, however Blackwater founder Erik Prince mounted a staunch defence of his policies. Prince said his employees were brave and did not over react, despite accusations by mainly democrats that the company behaved like a mercenary force beyond the law.

The US state department contracts Blackwater to carry out security operations for businessmen and officials. These contracts have totalled a value exceeding $1billion so far, so it’s definitely in Erik’s interests to keep the heat off so the contracts will continue.
