David Starkey attacks Queen Elizabeth II

In an unusual rant for a history academic, raconteur and historian David Starkey has laid into Queen Elizabeth, saying she is an uneducated housewife with more interest in her drinks trolley than in works of art.

Starkey also compared the Queen to ex-Nazi Goebbels, ‘everytime I hear the word culture I reach for my revolver’. The loud mouthed historian says the reason is that Elizabeth was poorly educated. In an unfavourable comparison with her predecessor Queen Elizabeth I, who in the opinion of David Starkey was twenty times better educated in lanuguages and the arts, the present Queen apparently has the intellect of a philistine housewife.

Well no award or peerage for Starkey then. The Conspiracy Review advises him to stay away from isolated woods, not to go walking alone, and to be a good boy. Fortunately as Starkey is not advocating the crown go Moslem, and does not intend  to reveal any secrets about forthcoming wars, he should be OK.

Starkey believes Prince Charles will be a better King than most suppose, and that Princess Diana was a sad and hysterical person. Crikey. Off with his head! Or should he be congratulated in outing the royal family?
