Gordon Brown refuses to meet Mugabe

83 year old President Mugabe continues to tweak the international communities tail by confirming he will attend a joint European Union and African Union summit in Lisbon scheduled for December whether or not UK Prime Minister Brown shows up. (Brown states he will not make the trip to the summit if Mugabe attends). The despotic Mugabe  routinely uses the UK as scapegoat for the parlous state of the Zimbabwe economy. A spokesman for Mugabe said that Brown is just wasting his time. South African President Thabo Mbeki has supported Mugabe for years, thereby ensuring that without substantial food aid most Zimbabweans will soon be starving. Mbeki must also take his share of responsibilty for the suffering caused.
