Hydrogen Powered Cars key to the future?

Nice to see the Japanese, companies like Nissan, are at least taking the issue seriously. Here we are, oil prices rising exponentially, demand from emerging economies rocketing skywards, oil companies clapping their hands with glee as they count their profits and, as they have for decades, pay to dissuade alternatives as viable transportation fuels.

So who’s trying to get us out of the 20th century and get us into the 21st with a fuel to match? Seems like Nissan, amongst other Japanese companies are the only ones. Nissan hydrogen powered cars look good, performance matches that of conventional fossil fuelled cars, they go for hundreds of miles on one fill, they’re quiet and out the exhaust pipe comes…droplets of water. Hydrogen power is far better than hybrids or fuel from food attempts.

So why aren’t governments piping in money to get these viable alternatives off the ground? The money to made from patents for new power supply technology is astronomic. Could corruption have anything to do with it? Politicians juiced in by oil companies to pooh pooh any alternative? Ignorance? Incompetence? All of these?

It’s time for the general public to pull their finger out, that’s YOU! Call, message, rant to your representative that viable alternatives to fossil fuels exist. Let’s stop the dependence on oil. This is the 21st century, we let go of horses in the 19th, let go of the fossil fuelled 20th.
