And just how vociferously Tony Blair and Gordon Brown attacked the Tories in the 1990’s over the cash for questions sleaze allegations will be thrown into sharp relief by the latest Labour party sleaze story.
Forget Bernie Ecclestone who paid a million pounds to Labour to delay the ban on Formula 1 cigarette sponsorship, today’s is a whopper. The allegations, the conspiracy, are that David Abrahams, a property developer, paid the Labour party half a million pounds to secure building permission for a business park. Abrahams then tried to hide the bribe by using proxies. This is clear corruption, everybody including Peter Watt, general secretary, in the Labour party, knew about it. Only when they were found out did Watt resign.
What next? What has not been revealed yet about Labour corruption? It is well known in the north of the UK where Labour has held power for decades that corruption is endemic, with Labour councillors parcelling off favours and deals for money in a cash fest of conspiracies.
The Conspiracy Review blog says it’s time to kick both UK major political parties into touch, and give the Lib Dems a chance to run the UK. And why not.
