Mobile Phones - Free Worldwide Calls with Skype
Having paid billions of pounds to buy licences for G3 technologies, mobile phone companies like Orange and Vodafone are waking up this morning with an uncomfortable business headache.
Skype announced yesterday the marketing of a mobile phone which will allow free calls all over the world by internet. This technology has been around for a while with PC’s, but to move into the world of mobiles is a big step and will force all mobile operators to replan their customer models.
Companies such as vodafone helped see the demise of landlines, and now they themselves are being usurped by Skype, which will completely revolutionise the world of mobile phones, provided the calls really are, free. How do Skype make money with this business model? Answers please!
