Most major supermarkets in the UK have been implicated of fixing the prices of dairy products, including milk, butter and cheese. Large fines may be imposed on Asda, Dairy Crest, Morrisons, Safeway, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Wiseman, if the Office of Fair Trading ruling is upheld in court. Dairy farmers have complained for years of basement prices being paid by supermarkets for their produce.
