Puno, Peru event a meteorite?
The recent smash of a heavy object into the earth in a remote part of Peru has left locals of the nearby small town of Puno flumoxed as to what actually took place. The media has flooded the area to cover the story. Was it an airplane crash? Was it a meteorite? The stinking crater left by the impact causes illness to those who take too close a look at the site.
Geologists do not believe the Peru event was a meteorite, (they don’t emit poisonous gases), and the site doesn’t resemble the debris strewn field of a plane crash. If anyone has an idea what caused the panic at Puno, (a military satellite crash?), please let me know.
